Eames Law Group is proud to announce that Attorney Olga Beznaschuk has been appointed to several leadership positions within the Illinois State Bar Association. Founded in 1877, the Illinois State Bar Association is the premier legal association in the state. An organization of more than 28,000 members, the ISBA engages in many important activities on behalf of the profession — among them proposing and shaping legislation, educating the public, and supporting the courts and the rule of law. Eames Law Group attorneys have frequently been appointed to leadership positions within the Association in areas including workers’ compensation and personal injury law.
Attorney Olga Beznashchuk has been appointed to serve on the Diversity Leadership Council. The goals of the Diversity Leadership Council are to foster communication and coordination between the ISBA’s diversity-related committees and section councils (including the Standing Committees on Women and the Law, Racial and Ethnic Minorities and the Law, Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, and Disability Law, as well as the Human and Civil Rights Section Council and the International Law and Immigration Section Council).
Additionally, Olga Beznashchuk has been reappointed to serve on the Standing Committee on Women and the Law. The mission of the ISBA Standing Committee on Women and the Law is:
- To study and to focus on areas of law uniquely affecting women;
- Assess, design, and implement programs designed to satisfy unmet legal needs;
- Study and recommend legislation uniquely affecting women;
- Provide a forum for action relating to women’s issues; and,
- Explore ways to encourage women in their involvement in the legal community at all levels.
Additionally, Attorney Olga Beznashchuk has been reappointed to serve on the Section Council for the ISBA Workers’ Compensation Law Section. The mission of ISBA Workers’ Compensation Law Section
- to promote improvement in the workers’ compensation system and the administration of justice under the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act and Illinois Occupational Disease Act;
- to enhance the professional capabilities of lawyers who practice before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission by disseminating information relevant to the practice;
- making recommendations on proposed legislation;
- conducting conferences and seminars on topics important to section members; and
- promoting communications between the bar and all personnel of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission.
