We are proud to announce that Eames Law Group Attorneys, Brent Eames and Olga Beznashchuk, have once again been appointed to serve in multiple leadership roles within the Illinois State Bar Association. At the ISBA annual meeting, Brent Eames began his term as the Secretary of the ISBA Tort Law Section. This section is comprised of Plaintiffs’ attorneys, Defense attorneys, and Civil Judges from across the state. By serving as Secretary in this bar year, Brent is in line to serve as Chair of the Tort Law Section in 2027-2028.

The mission of ISBA Tort Law Section

  • To enhance the knowledge and professional capabilities of lawyers who devote their time to the practice of tort law in all its substantive branches both on behalf of Plaintiffs and Defendants;
  • To disseminate current tort law information, such as proposed legislation and case law to members and explain any impact it may have on members’ tort practices;
  • To educate tort practitioners in the substantive branches of tort law through continuing legal education programs Tort Trends publications, and use of its listservs;
  • To promote diversity among its membership;
  • To encourage mentoring programs in conjunction with the young lawyers division encouraging and offering advise to younger lawyers desiring to investigate the practice of tort law;
  • To promote and encourage the professional, civil, and ethical practice of tort law at all times; and
  • To promote improvements in the tort system, to protect the rights of tort litigants, and ensure the administration of justice.

Additionally, Brent Eames began his term as Ex-Officio of the ISBA Workers’ Compensation Law Section. This Section Council is comprised of attorneys practicing on behalf of Petitioners as well as in defense of workers’ compensation claims in Illinois. The Section Council is also comprised of Arbitrators of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, a Commissioner of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, and a Justice of the Appellate Court.

The mission of ISBA Workers’ Compensation Law Section is:

  • to promote improvement in the workers’ compensation system and the administration of justice under the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act and Illinois Occupational Disease Act;
  • to enhance the professional capabilities of lawyers who practice before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission by disseminating information relevant to the practice;
  • making recommendations on proposed legislation;
  • conducting conferences and seminars on topics important to section members; and
  • promoting communications between the bar and all personnel of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission

For the second year in a row, Olga has been appointed by the President of the Illinois State Bar Association to serve as a Member of the ISBA Standing Committee on Women and the Law for 2025-2025.

The mission of the ISBA Standing Committee on Women and the Law is:

  • To study and to focus on areas of law uniquely affecting women;
  • Assess, design, and implement programs designed to satisfy womens unmet legal needs;
  • Study and recommend legislation uniquely affecting women;
  • Provide a forum for action relating to women’s issues; and,
  • Explore ways to encourage women in their involvement in the legal community at all levels.

For the third year in a row, Olga has been appointed to serve as a member of the Section Council of the ISBA Workers’ Compensation Law Section.

Founded in 1877, the Illinois State Bar Association is the premier legal association in the state. As a voluntary organization of more than 28,000 members, the Association aims to assist Illinois lawyers in the practice of law and to promote improvements in the administration of justice.
