Attorney Brent Eames of Eames Law Group has filed a Cook County lawsuit on behalf of the estate of a deceased Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient who was struck and killed by a high-speed motorist while he was walking in a Walgreens parking lot near his home in Hillside, Illinois.
As reported by ABC 7 Chicago, Fox 32 Chicago, NBC 5 Chicago, and CBS News, the Defendant driver initially struck a police squad car that was sitting at a red light at LaVergne and Butterfield before striking other cars until leaving the roadway and entering the Walgreens parking lot where the driver struck our deceased client who was on the sidewalk on a pedestrian ramp at the corner of the parking lot.
The wrongful death lawsuit demands damages pursuant to the Wrongful Death Act, which seeks compensation for the deceased’s surviving children due to the untimely and tragic loss of the patriarch of their family. In addition to a claim for wrongful death, Eames Law Group has filed a separate count known as a “survival action.” This survival action is brought on behalf of the estate to recover damages that the deceased would have been entitled to receive had he not passed away.
